feeling merry and bright - a holiday party for my nearest and dearest

Holidays are crazy enough as it is, but on top of it all the company I work for has a major product launch happening in January. This just means that time is ever so precious to me at the moment and I'm spending it carefully. So as much as I would have loved to spend time one-on-one with my nearest and dearest friends and clients, I knew I wouldn't be able to make it happen. Instead, I threw a festive, merry and bright holiday party for them in my home and pulled out all the stops to make them feel as special as they are.

The ambiance of the party was really important to me. I wanted the entire apartment to feel warm and comforting, so I went with an all white colour palette with touches of natural greens and hints of black. I also planned a festive menu with a holiday mimosa bar, cheese plate and vegetarian nibbles. A lot of effort was put into unique menu twists, like including watermelon juice and mint leaves for the mimosa bar, or the special cranberry and fig spread to pair with the warmed brie. There was barely anything left when the guests where gone so it's safe to assume the effort paid off!

To go along with the ambiance, I wanted the space smelling festive, so I picked up the Saje Natural Wellness 'Wellness Wonderland' diffuser blend. I couldn't bring in a real tree, so I created one using sage, rosemary and thyme. Together along with the scent of food, there was a hint of Christmas in the air even without a full evergreen tree.

I have to give a shout out to this moment where I opened a gift from my good friend Steph to find a 'feminist' sweater inside. #bestgift
