reflections on christmas traditions
I've always loved Christmas morning spent with my parents. Just the three of us drinking hot chocolate (these days, spiked with Baileys) and opening presents in the living room. But as I've gotten older and our family has changed with the passing of loved ones, traditions have had to change. It takes time, but eventually you adjust and find new routines.
This Christmas, I began a new tradition to carry on as the family continues to change. We still opened presents, just the three of us, with spiked hot chocolate in the living room. Then we sat down to a Christmas morning breakfast I prepared the night before. Topped off with a morning mimosa and we have a new morning tradition to look forward to for the years ahead.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all. Thank you for sticking with me for the year and thank you to those of you who are new to this slice of Internet. I hope you enjoy your day and spend it with ones you love. I'd love to hear what traditions - new and old - you've taken part in over the day. Share in the comments below!
P.S. My Christmas morning breakfast recipe came from SF Girl By Bay. Plus I shared the 'making of' over on Snapchat - give me a follow, I'm inasequoia.
