Megan te Boekhorst, Toronto

Hi. I'm Megan.

I brought my West Coast soul to the city of Toronto in order to build the creative empire of my dreams. Never one to take the traditional route, I've lived life on my own terms since 1991. Now I'm heading my own agency, Sequoia Content Studio, and rocking my #ladyboss dreams.

In A Sequoia is an inside look into the life of an entrepreneur. It's for those who own being a bad ass, vulnerable bitch. It's a source of inspiration for creating a life that's unapologetically yours. Live #thesequoialife.

Nine months and six days ago, I joined The FAT Paint Company Tribe as their PR + Marketing Manager. From day one, I began work on a national campaign that would elevate the FAT Paint brand to the next level. Today, that campaign officially kicked off. So I'm taking some time to reflect on the past nine months and revel in the gratitude I feel for this moment.

Introducing The Amanda Forrest Collection. In collaboration with Canadian Celebrity Interior Designer Amanda Forrest, we created a palette of six quintessential 'Amanda' colours. They are bold, fun and inspiring - sure to make you fall in love.

Working with someone as talented and amazing as Amanda has been an unbelievable experience. Her creativity and style is inspiring. To be a part of the process for the content we've created, from the photoshoot to media kits to video production, has pushed my skills to the next level. It's been seven or eight months since I first reached out to Amanda and I still can't believe I communicate with this incredible entrepreneur almost daily.

Additionally, I've been fortunate enough to work alongside Erin Sousa from Sparkle Media. I like to think I'm good with words, but there aren't enough of them to express how much Erin's mentorship and guidance have meant to me. Her work has been an inspiration of mine ever since I discovered the world of PR, so to know her and be supported by her has been the best education I could ever receive.

Of course, none of this would have happened without FAT Paint. And we are making a big splash with this new collection. In fact, I woke up at 5:30 am just to see our first (that's right, only the first) morning broadcast segment live! It's happening in Ottawa, so the timezones decided I don't need sleep. There's a lot of stuff happening on social media so be sure to follow us at @thefatpaintco and we'll be appearing at home shows across the nation!

And really, I'm so excited to finally be able to talk to people about what I've been up to these past nine months!
