Hi. I'm Megan.

Within the short period of two-weeks, I uprooted my comfortable Vancouver life and moved to Toronto. Now you find me working in Public Relations for a non-profit supporting young entrepreneurs as I set my sights on building my own creative empire.

In A Sequoia is for those who own being the boss of their life. A source of inspiration for creating intention. Unapologetic vulnerability. Live #thesequoialife.

recharging by the ocean

recharging by the ocean

The past month had been a whirlwind for work. I rocked so many career goals, I never imagined I'd be where I am so soon. But those goals took a lot of blood, sweat and tears (sometimes literally) to accomplish and I was in need of a serious recharge. So I packed my bags and headed to Vancouver Island. Knocked two birds with one stone by spending the weekend with a good friend who moved to Victoria not too long ago, and gratefully crashed on her futon!

I hadn't been to the island since high school, and only spent my time there being the tourist. I'm talking wax museum, Parliament buildings, oogling at The Empress because we'd never spend the money to do anything else, and the Royal British Columbia Museum. But this time, I wanted to explore more of the real Victoria. The locals' loved spots.

I've got to tell you, the Victoria downtown core is absolutely amazing. Though you'll find your regular retail chains, there are countless boutiques and natural product shops within steps. Add to that the history of the town, and you can spend countless hours wandering a few blocks and be completely happy. There's also plenty of nature and spots to get your sweat on. In fact, our Saturday began with a quick hike before we shopped until we dropped.

Scroll through the photos below to see just how amazing my weekend getaway truly was - and be inspired to explore the historic town on your own adventure!
