brunch with some rad babes
It's been one week of full-time entrepreneurship, and the reality of it still hasn't quite hit me yet. Each day has brought new discoveries and challenges for myself. I've had to reset my expectations a few times. I've also had to breathe and remind myself to enjoy every moment a few times as well.
But one of my favourite, newish aspects of being my own boss is being a part of the incredible entrepreneurial community in Toronto. I've always known it's there, and I've always gone to events and met-up with cool solopreneurs, but having the flexibility and freedom to fully be a part of the community has been a wicked-awesome part of this entrepreneur journey I'm on.
That's why I knew one of the first things I wanted to do as a business owner was to host an event that brought together and celebrated the badass boss community in the city. Which is how the Boss Babe Brunch began.
Creating a space for entrepreneurs to put their business to the side and take time for themselves in a meaningful way, the Boss Babe Brunch will bring good vibes, good eats, and good peeps. Because our businesses, and the bosses behind them, thrive when we support each other.
PLUS, we have Lauren McPhillips of This Renegade Love joining us for brunch and a fireside chat to delve into her real-life experience on finding balance while building a business. I have long admired Lauren's blog and Instagram channel, finding her raw and honest content refreshing (and a major inspiration for my own content channels!). I can't wait to sit with her and take in all the inspiration she has to offer.
The event is happening at The Drake, and we have the Sky Yard all to ourselves. If you haven't been, it's a gorgeous outdoor space and one of my favourite spots in the city. The scones alone are to die for, and I've been promised we'll have plenty on hand for the event.
Plus, guests will be greeted with a welcome mimosa the second they arrive, and is there anything better that a Sunday morning mimosa?
I'm still in a daze that the event is this Sunday. It's been a goal of mine for months now, and to be honest I'm not sure I'm ready for it now that it's happening! I can't wait to share all the behind-the-scenes details on my Instagram stories and post my learnings on the Sequoia Content Studio blog, The Pitch. And if you want to join us on Sunday, tickets are still available here! Because I love you all so much, you can save 10% by using the code BRUNCH10.
As a bonus, the brunch is two-days shy of this blog's four-year anniversary. I can't believe it's been that long! In A Sequoia has gone through so many changes and evolutions over that time and I'm so grateful you've stayed with it through the ups and downs. I promise I have cool things planned for year four (hint, hint: anyone interested in a new product line?) and even more amazing events like the Boss Babe Brunch. Until then, stay tuned and, if you can, join us on Sunday!
