pomegranate and elderflower summer cocktail

Despite the fact work seems to dominate 23 out of my 24 hours in a day (which I love, don't get me wrong), I need to carve out time to socialize once in a while. If I don't spend some quality time with my girls, I will go insane. And insanity prevention is key in my opinion.

When I do socialize, my goal is to make it special and memorable. I want to create a space for quality time with the ones I love. I find the best way to achieve this goal is found within the little details: fresh flowers in the apartment, or maybe handmade gifts for everyone, or even a signature cocktail.

But because I work 23 out of my 24 hours in a day, these special details need to be quick, simple, and still adorable. That is why I love this Pomegranate and Elderflower Summer Cocktail I served as my signature drink for my most recent girl's night. With just three ingredients and a elegant garnish, this light and fresh drink is perfectly enjoyed on a long summer's night.

Pomegranate and Elderflower Summer Cocktail

  • champagne flute or brandy sniffer (I used the brandy sniffer)
  • 1 shot of coconut rum
  • 2 shots of pomegranate and elderflower cordial
  • chilled sparkling water
  • 2 ice cubes
  • Flowers (garnish)

Pour your coconut rum and cordial into your chosen glass over ice. Add your sparkling water until full. Elegantly place flowers to garnish. Enjoy with friends and sunshine.

When picking flowers for your garnish, you could buy edible flowers and let your guests know they can be eaten. Or you could do what I did and buy organic flowers, give them a light rinse the night before just in case, and warn people not to eat the flowers. Organic flowers are much easier to source than edible.

This drink is stunning to look at and delicious to enjoy. Perfect for any event during these warm summer months.
